Do you want to work in one of Sweden's most specialized psychosis services and have the opportunity to combine outpatient care with inpatient care?

We are now looking for an engaged specialist physician in psychiatry for a permanent position at 60%.

Our operations

The Psychosis section at Akademiska sjukhuset is a highly specialized unit for patients with schizophrenia and similar psychotic conditions, often with extensive comorbidity and complex social issues. We provide both advanced outpatient care (psychosis clinics with integrated teams) and inpatient care with 23 beds across two wards. The work is characterized by person-centered care, long-term continuity, strong medical leadership, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Your tasks

You will work 60% within the section with a focus on outpatient care, but with a clear and important mission to support the inpatient wards as needed, especially during holiday periods, vacancies, or increased care pressure.

Examples of tasks:

• Specialist assessments, treatment, and long-term follow-up of patients with psychotic disorders
• Pharmacological interventions and somatic follow-up
• Care planning and interdisciplinary collaboration
• Supervision of residents and junior doctors
• Reassessment of suspected psychotic disorders
• Participation in the section's on-call line (some on-call duty included)

There are excellent opportunities to combine the position with research, quality/development work, or teaching.

We are looking for someone who

• Is a licensed physician with Swedish specialist competence in psychiatry
• Has solid experience in psychosis care
• Has extensive experience in inpatient care with involuntary treatment (LPT) – this is highly meritorious
• Enjoys flexibility and moving between outpatient and inpatient care
• Is confident, structured, and enjoys taking medical responsibility in complex patient cases
• Fluent in Swedish in both spoken and written form (at least C1 level)
